NAOMI ESHOO

Armenian Folkdance

Some of Naomi's earliest memories are of line dancing at Armenian picnics with her father.  Her first visit to Middle East camp was in 1992 and fell in love with the people, dance and music. She participated in her first dance troupe when she was eleven with John and Helen Belizikjian and has never stopped dancing since. Naomi is a recent graduate from the University of Santa Cruz where she majored in Linguistics. This is also where she realized that others wanted to know the dances she had learned over the years. She began by teaching her International Dance instructor a few Armenian and Assyrian line dances and eventually filled in for her when she was unable to attend class. Naomi has studied with some of the best, including Jora Makarian Ensemble, Barbara Chookasian, Tom Bozigian (So Cal), the Bogozian sisters, but most often with her father Dan Eshoo.
